IRECA Creates Internship Opportunity

International Rescue and Emergency Care Association (IRECA) is an organization made up of rescue professionals from industry, law enforcement, emergency medical services, and fire departments. While IRECA has several projects, the primary one is the annual conference and competition held in June.
​
IRECA members attend classes, conduct association business, socialize, and participate in competitions (technical rescue, EMS, and vehicle extrication).
​
IRECA is offering an internship to help coordinate and support various association activities.
IRECA Internship Job Description
March – July

Development and Implementation of a Customer Relations Management (CRM) database – Research options, report back to IRECA Board of Director, and determine if there is a management database for tracking members, conference attendees and course/competition involvement. Compare to existing Access database and recommend if we should adopt a new program or improve existing system. Develop better customer records and create ability to send mass mailings, emails and track involvement.

Organizational Toolkit for Conference Planning and Management – Take historical documents and current practices to develop a toolkit to replicate planning and coordination of the Annual Conference. This will include development of an RFP (request for proposals) for conference sites, budget templates, brochure templates, marketing tools and “how to” documents for each event.
​
Annual Report – Create a template for an Annual Report for a non-profit organization to be used ongoing for the Association and Conference. Utilize template to create the 2009 report and present to Board of Directors and Association membership at the annual conference in June 2010. Coordinate Event – At the annual conference in June 2010, research, plan and implement a Bone Marrow Drive. Develop tools for duplication and management in future years. Annual Conference – Participate at the Annual conference as a staff member; assisting in registration, member services and coordinate the education component. The education component will include working with speakers, audio/visual needs and hotel management to ensure educational sessions run efficiently.
