What does the
IRECA Conference offer to an individual Firefighter
or EMT?
For the individual
wishing to attend the conference, we offer an exciting
avenue to learn from the leaders in the automobile
extrication field. Come join Murry Smith, Dwight Clark,
Daryl Newport, Dell Marstiller, Elgin Browning and
others for an innovative learning opportunity. These
instructors are internationally known for teaching
extrication strategies and tactics. They are authors
of rescue articles and many have lead their teams
to victory in regional, national, and international
extrication challenges.
When you register for
the Vehicle Rescue Track, you will receive a 16-hour
Advanced Vehicle Rescue continuing education certificate
that address’s the competencies of NFPA #1670,
Standard for Technical Rescue, Chapter 6 Vehicle Rescue,
Operations Level (rescue, patient considerations,
and incident command), and NFPA #1006, Professional
Qualifications for Rescue Technicians.
During these two days,
you will spend day one interacting with instructors
and team members as we conduct DAY ONE of the challenge.
You as a student will learn the dynamics of how vehicles
become damaged, see the process as a wreck is staged,
be able to discuss rescue strategies with the instructors,
see teams complete their two scenario’s and
then be able to ask and learn shortcuts that will
help you become a better rescuer. You will also have
ample time to visit with the vendors and use their
tools to gain insight into the different tools on
the market today. At the end of DAY ONE you will be
assigned to a rescue team with an experienced Captain.
The Captain will meet with you and other team members
to gain insight into the teams experience level and
to answer any questions.
On DAY TWO, you as
part of a team will experience two scenario based
exercises. Under the direction of an experienced Captain
you will learn the basics and very crucial aspects
of teamwork, multi-tasking, developing a rescue plan
and tool use.
The Captain is your
Learning Partner and will offer insight in the safest
and most efficient ways to perform patient rescue
using the latest extrication techniques.
The conference also
offers classes in areas of Basic and Advanced Emergency
Medical Services and Technical Rescue. If you attend
any of these classes, you can receive continuing education
certificates in those subjects.
So come to our conference,
see teams in action and join a team.
We want you to be the best rescuer and care giver
there is.
We are the International Rescue and Emergency Care
Association and
here to HELP YOU to HELP OTHERS.
